A $50,000 reward for information that helps solve the stabbing death of a 21-year-old man in Historic Filipinotown last year was approved Tuesday by the Los Angeles City Council.
Juan Carlos Luna was last seen alive in the early morning hours of Sept. 17 leaving a party in Koreatown and was found dead around 8:10 a.m. on a sidewalk in the 1800 block of West Court Street, according to the reward introduced by Councilman Mitch O’Farrell.
Luna, who was a resident of Glendale, had been stabbed multiple times, and police have little to go on.
“Mr. Luna’s murder and the loss to his family is tragic and sad beyond comprehension,” O’Farrell said.
The reward, which was approved on a 15-0 vote, is being offered for information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Luna’s death.
