The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday to its lowest amount since Dec. 8, 2010, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.234.

The average price has decreased 42 consecutive days and 65 of the past 66, dropping 59.4 cents over that span, including seven-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 7.5 cents less than one week ago, 40.3 cents lower than one month ago and 40.4 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped a half-cent to $3.186, its lowest amount since Dec. 5, 2010. It has decreased 40 of the past 41 days, dropping 49.6 cents over that span, including 1.4 cents on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 7.3 cents less than one week ago, 42.4 cents lower than one month ago and 42.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
