The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Sunday to its lowest amount since Aug. 2, 2009, decreasing 1.8 cents to $2.909.
The average price has decreased 74 consecutive days, dropping 80.6 cents during the streak, including 2.3 cents on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak is the longest since a 91- day run of falling prices from Sept. 17-Dec. 16, 2008.
The average price is 11.7 cents less than one week ago, 30.7 cents lower than one month ago and 74.1 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price today dropped today to its lowest amount since July 31, 2009, decreasing 1.9 cents to $2.873.
The Orange County average price has decreased 41 of the past 42 days and is 11 cents less than one week ago, 30.1 cents lower than one month ago and 75.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
