The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Sunday to its lowest amount since June 2, 2009, decreasing 1.8 cents to $2.769.
The average price has decreased 81 consecutive days, dropping 94.6 cents during the streak, including 2.3 cents on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak is the longest since a 91-day run of falling prices from Sept. 17-Dec. 16, 2008.
The average price is 14 cents less than one week ago, 37.5 cents lower than one month ago and 87.1 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped to its lowest amount since May 31, 2009, decreasing 1.2 cents to $2.733.
The Orange County average price has decreased 21 consecutive days and 48 of the past 49 days, dropping 57.6 cents, including 2.2 cents on Saturday. It is 14 cents less than one week ago, 36.1 cents lower than one month ago and 88.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
