Hawthorne-based SpaceX released video Friday of a crash landing of one of its rockets in the Atlantic ocean.

The Falcon 9 rocket, which had just successfully delivered cargo to the International Space Station, was attempting to land on a platform floating in the Atlantic ocean, the New York Times reported.

While rockets are normally seen as losses, SpaceX was attempting to land the rocket to reuse it.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted about the crash landing: “Close, but no cigar. This time.”
