The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Tuesday to its lowest amount since May 17, 2009, decreasing 1.2 cents to $2.516.

The average price has dropped 15 consecutive days, decreasing 16.8 cents, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday. It is 8.8 cents less than one week ago, 27.1 cents lower than one month ago and $1.118 below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price dropped Tuesday to its lowest amount since May 15, 2009, decreasing 1 cent to $2.489. It has dropped 14 consecutive days, decreasing 16.8 cents, including a half-cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price is 9.1 cents less than one week ago, 25.6 cents lower than one month ago and $1.128 below what it was one year ago.
