The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday for the 38th consecutive day and the 39th time in 40 days, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.58, its lowest amount since April 29.
The average price has dropped 43.6 cents over the past 40 days, including 1.4 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 4.8 cents less than one week ago, 35.8 cents lower than one month ago and 56.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 40th consecutive day Thursday, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.513, its lowest amount since April 28. It is 4.2 cents less than one week ago, 39.8 cents lower than one month ago and 61.7 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped 49 cents over the past 40 days, including 1.4 cents to Wednesday.
