The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped 2.4 cents Thursday to $3.626, decreasing for the 13th consecutive day and 39th time in 42 days.
The average price has dropped 67.6 cents over the past 42 days, including 2.5 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The decreases follow a seven-day stretch of increases totaling 75.7 cents that pushed the average price to its highest amount since May 4, 2014.
The average price dropped for 26 consecutive days, had three days of increases totaling 10 cents from Aug. 12-14, then resumed declining on Aug. 15.
The average price is 15.7 cents less than one week ago, 53.6 cents lower than one month ago and 21.8 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped 3.4 cents Thursday to $3.561, also decreasing for the 13th consecutive day and 39th time in 42 days. It has dropped 71.4 cents over the past 42 days, including 2.4 cents on Wednesday.
The decreases follow a seven-day stretch of increases totaling 77.8 cents that pushed the average price to its highest amount since May 6, 2014.
The Orange County average price dropped for 26 consecutive days, had three consecutive days of increases totaling 10.2 cents from Aug. 12-14, then resumed declining on Aug. 15.
The Orange County average price is 17.7 cents less than one week ago, 57.7 cents lower than one month ago and 25.1 cents below what it was one year ago.
