The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped a half-cent Tuesday to $2.894, one day after being unchanged.
The average price is eight-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 5.2 cents higher than one month ago but 5.1 cent less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price dropped two-tenths of a cent for the third consecutive day to $2.879. It is four-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 5.1 cents higher than one month ago but 3.4 cents less than one year ago.
When the last presidential election was held on Nov. 6, 2012, the average price was $4.003 in Los Angeles County and $3.944 in Orange County.
