Rancho Mirage residents seeking to register for next month’s municipal election have until midnight to submit registration forms.

The April 10 election will decide who will claim four-year terms for three open city council seats. The election will be an all-mail ballot election, with no established polling places open on April 10.

A half-dozen candidates are vying for the three open spots.

The incumbents are longtime council members Dana Hobart and Iris Smotrich, as well as current Mayor Charles Townsend Vinci.

Newcomers include longtime Rancho Mirage resident and business owner Kate Spates, former Sony and JVC executive Robert Mueller, and attorney Michael Harrington.

Registration applications can be submitted online at RegisterToVote.ca.gov .

Applications postmarked by the deadline will also be honored, and are available at the Riverside County Registrar of Voters office, the city of Rancho Mirage City Clerk’s office, Department of Motor Vehicles offices and post offices.

Voter eligibility questions can be submitted to the registrar’s office at (951) 486-7200.
