Microsoft is hosting a “Digi Camp” in Lennox Thursday, with workshops in coding, robotics and virtual reality, to encourage kids to explore careers in technology.
Participants in the program at the Los Angeles County library in Lennox will have the opportunity to receive Microsoft certificates for completing training.
The program is part of a Digital Alliance formed in August between the county library system and Microsoft, which will host another upcoming camp at the Compton Library. Microsoft also funded a $3.3 million software grant to upgrade more than 2,200 public computers at 87 library locations countywide.
The software upgrade and Digi Camp program support the library’s iCount equity initiative, which tackles inequity and barriers to access in the community.
