Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is expected to be in Mexico City Wednesday for a two-day trip to promote tourism to L.A. and U.S.-Mexico relations and participate in events on climate change.
Garcetti’s first public event on the trip will have him participate in a conversation about U.S.-Mexico relations, climate change and trade with Ambassador Enrique Berruga Filloy, head of the Aspen Institute Mexico, followed later in the day with a Discover LA reception to promote tourism to Los Angeles.
On Thursday, Garcetti will join Mexico City Chief of Government Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum for a joint news conference to kick off the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Mexico City-Los Angeles sister city relationship and make an announcement on climate change leadership.
