Food, beverages and cannabis. It’s all on the menu at what’s being billed as the nation’s first-ever cannabis cafe, and it’s set to open Tuesday in West Hollywood

The owners of Lowell Farms: A Cannabis Cafe, 1201 N. La Brea Ave., say the establishment is a “welcoming space for those who are cannabis connoisseurs and those who are just canna-curious.”

“Our cafe offers tourists and locals the opportunity to experience cannabis in a sociable, restaurant-style atmosphere,” according to the cafe’s website. “There hasn’t been anything like this in existence for over 100 years, dating back to pre-prohibition era cannabis tea pads. We’re excited to set the standard on what a U.S.-based cannabis cafe is, and share this rare experience with our like-minded, and inquisitive, cannabis community.”

The cafe is geared to both the experienced cannabis user and newcomers, who can get assistance from “Flower Hosts” or “budtenders.”

In addition to cannabis, the cafe offers food from chef Andrea Drummer, who “has designed a menu to enhance your cannabis experience — which can heighten your sense of taste and smell.”

When the establishment was approved by West Hollywood’s Business License Commission, owners said they would be installing an air-filtration system similar to those used in casinos — an effort to prevent cannabis smoke from wafting off the property.

Guests will not need a reservation, but they can be made on the cafe’s website at lowellcafe.com.
