An assistance center will open Sunday for residents affected by the Getty Fire in the Sepulveda Pass.
City, county and state officials will be stationed at the facility, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the Westwood Recreation Center, 1350 S. Sepulveda Blvd.
The center will offer residents assistance on topics such as replacing records lost in a fire, filing insurance claims and applying for disaster assistance. The center will also provide information on property cleanup, repair and rebuilding.
As of Saturday, the Getty Fire was 79% contained after burning 745 acres, destroying 10 homes and damaging 15 others. Five firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries.
