The Clippers’ presidents of basketball and business operations were named Tuesday co-recipients of the Los Angeles Sports Council’s 2019 Sports Executive of the Year Award.
The council noted the team’s rebuilding effort over the past five years, culminating with the recent off-season acquisitions of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank and President of Business Operations Gillian Zucker will be honored during the 15th annual L.A. Sports Awards ceremony Feb. 20 at the Beverly Hilton.
The council credited Frank for engineering the acquisition of Leonard and George.
“In just two years on the job, he has reshaped the roster into a tough, competitive, unrelenting group fiercely admired by Clippers Nation,” according to a statement from the council.
The organization noted that Zucker has “completely reinvented the Clippers brand and transformed the organization’s culture, earning praise for the Clippers’ groundbreaking investments in the community, the fans, the game experience and the team itself.”
