A new call line will go live Monday for Spanish speakers and others with questions about local coronavirus resources, it was announced Friday.
Callers who dial the Indio Visitor’s Center during the work week can have their questions answered in English or Spanish about unemployment, small business assistance and other available help in the Coachella Valley during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is a natural extension of those services for us,” said Joshua Bonner, president and CEO of the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce, which operates the center. “We may not be able to answer every question, but we will do our best to direct our residents to the services and support they need during this time of crisis.”
The new hotline will be staffed Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is geared to help all Coachella Valley residents, not just those in Indio. The number is 760-347-0676.
