The city of Eastvale and the Eastvale Chamber of Commerce Saturday were asking the public for donations for a COVID-19 restaurant relief fund.
Money raised will be used to buy gift cards or certificates from Eastvale restaurants affected by coronavirus shutdowns as a way to “infuse money into our small business economy,” Eastvale spokesman Marc Donohue said.
The gift cards and certificates will be given to public safety personnel, other essential workers on the front lines, and local residents affected by COVID-19, Donohue said.
The fund initially raised over $10,000 in seed money from local business leaders, he said.
Anyone wishing to donate to the fund can visit www.eastvalecoc.org. Donors can specify what restaurant within Eastvale they’d like their donation to go toward.
Eastvale residents and restaurateurs impacted by COVID-19 can share their story with the Eastvale Chamber of Commerce by contacting them at email@example.com.
