Portions of the Long Beach (710) Freeway in Commerce and Vernon will be closed for 55 hours starting Friday evening for a road resurfacing and bridge widening project.
The southbound Long Beach Freeway will be fully closed between the Santa Ana (5) Freeway and Bandini Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday and from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, according to Eric Menjivar, a Caltrans public information officer,
Three southbound lanes will be closed between 7 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, Menjivar said.
Three lanes of the northbound Long Beach Freeway will be closed between Bandini Boulevard and the Santa Ana Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday and from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Two northbound lanes will be closed between 7 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, Menjivar said.
The closure includes the Atlantic Boulevard/Bandini Boulevard on- and off-ramps, the Washington Boulevard on- and off-ramps and the northbound connector to the Santa Ana Freeway, which will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Residents and workers near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with the work, Menjivar said.
