An outside rubbish fire that extended into a business building in the Green Meadows section of south Los Angeles was extinguished Sunday by firefighters, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The blaze at 417 E. Lanzit Ave. was reported at 8:34 p.m., fire department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
The fire burned through the first 50 feet of the commercial building, Prange said.
The department sent 34 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in about 30 minutes, Prange said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation, he said.
