Nearly 90 firefighters extinguished a blaze in a commercial building in Shadow Hills — a community in the northeast part of the San Fernando Valley — amid temperatures in the high 90s Friday afternoon.
The flames were reported about 1:40 p.m. in the one-story business that contained upholstered furnishings in the 11600 block of West Sheldon Street, near Glenoaks Boulevard, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Eighty-seven firefighters responded to the scene, which had downed power lines, and extinguished the blaze in about an hour, Humphrey said.
The flames did not spread to any other structures, and no injuries were reported, according to Humphrey.
The fire’s cause was under investigation.
