A car crashed into a Santa Ana building and caught fire Saturday evening.
The fire was reported just before 7:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of West First Street, said Capt. Thanh Nguyen of the Orange County Fire Authority.
The car crashed through the wall and burst into flames, Nguyen said. The driver and any other occupants had fled the scene before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters quickly put out the flames and prevented it from spreading into the business, which was closed at the time of the crash, he said.
The crash left a gaping hole in the building, a news photographer told City News Service.
