An 8-inch water main ruptured Thursday in an alley in Van Nuys, affecting service to several nearby businesses, and some flooding was reported.
The problem was reported about 10:20 a.m. in the 14500 block of Sylvan Street, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
Crews shut off the flow of water, and were working Thursday afternoon to restore service, the LADWP reported.
Some businesses were flooded, according to reports from the scene.
