The City of Industry Friday announced the expansion of its COVID-19 business assistance grant programs in an effort to help alleviate the ongoing financial pressure many local businesses face during the pandemic.
The newly expanded programs will double maximum reimbursement amounts for each grant program, bringing the available relief for businesses to $30,000 for the COVID-19 Employee Testing Reimbursement Program and to $10,000 for the Outdoor Business Assistance Program. Businesses will also now be able to apply for each grant multiple times within these reimbursement limits.
“Our businesses have faced an uphill battle since last March, and today’s expansion of our business grant programs aims to better help them meet the financial demands they continue to face.” said Industry Mayor Cory Moss. “The success of our local businesses is tied to the success of our region and our city has made it a priority to find ways like this to help see them through this crisis.”
Further expansions to the grant programs include an increase to the maximum reimbursement amount for each individual COVID-19 test from $100 to $200. As cooler weather sets in, businesses are now also able to receive reimbursement for additional items needed for outdoor business operations, including heaters, propane, outdoor temporary lighting and paper products, which include takeout containers, napkins and utensils.
Costs associated with the installation of resources, labor, supplies, or other construction equipment are ineligible for reimbursement.
The city set aside a total of $300,000 to fund the COVID-19 Testing Program grant and $200,000 to fund the Outdoor Business Assistance grant that will continue to be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis to Industry businesses in need. A combined total of over $350,000 remains for both grants. Grants awarded to businesses are not required to be repaid.
