Lanes closures will be in effect beginning Thursday through Saturday night along two streets in the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw area due to construction related to the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project.
The work will take place from 6 a.m. Thursday to 7 p.m. Saturday on Crenshaw and Obama boulevards and will include grinding of the existing road, construction of a center median, new asphalt paving, striping of three traffic lanes in each direction and installation of traffic signal improvements along Crenshaw Boulevard, according to Metro’s Jose Ubaldo.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction along both streets during the construction project and parking restrictions will be in place along Crenshaw Boulevard between 29th and Coliseum streets and on Obama Boulevard between Victoria and Bronson avenues, Ubaldo said.
Businesses in the area will remain open during construction and will be accessible to pedestrians.
The Crenshaw/LAX Line will be a 8.5-mile light rail line serving Crenshaw, Inglewood, Westchester and LAX communities.
