A private construction crew ruptured a natural gas line while doing excavation work at an industrial site in the Sun Valley area Friday, but no one was hurt.
The problem was reported about 12:25 p.m. in the 10600 block of West Lorne Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Southern California Gas Co. crews were sent to the scene, and some people in nearby businesses were asked to go outdoors and move away from the site as a precaution.
The LAFD announced at about 2:35 p.m. that the leak had been stopped and occupants of nearby businesses were being allowed to return.
