Los Angeles World Airports, which owns and operates LAX and Van Nuys Airport, announced appointments Monday for the positions chief airport affairs officer and deputy executive director for operations.

Becca Doten, who has held the position of interim chief corporate strategy and affairs officer since November, was promoted to chief airport affairs officer. She began working for LAWA in 2017 as its director of public relations, and also served later as the deputy executive director for public and government affairs.

As chief airport affairs officer, she will serve as CEO Justin Erbacci’s chief of staff, LAWA’s liaison to LAX airline partners and oversee the public relations, community relations, government relations, airport marketing and air services development divisions.

Douglas Webster, whose most recent position was chief operating officer and executive vice president at India’s Delhi International Airport, was selected to be LAWA’s deputy executive director for operations. He was selected through an international search for experienced candidates.

LAWA described Webster as “an accomplished aviation professional” with three decades of experience, including in airport operations, airlines expertise, strategic planning, terminal transition planning, staffing, transformation, customer service automation and stakeholder management. He previously worked for Florida’s Hollywood Airport as deputy director and for Northwest Airlines as general manager.

As LAWA’s deputy executive director for operations, Webster will be responsible for all areas of operations at the airports, including airside, landside and terminal operations.

“Los Angeles World Airports is in the midst of an ambitious capital improvement program to modernize every aspect of our airports, and Douglas Webster and Becca Doten have the operational insights and strategic approach that will help us reach our goal of creating world-class airports that provide economic benefit to our local communities and region,” LAWA CEO Justin Erbacci said. “Their professionalism and experience will bolster the executive team as we all continue to respond to and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and look ahead to a very bright future.”
