A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 in Riverside Wednesday injured one motorist and prompted the temporary closure of all lanes on the northbound side.
The wreck was reported about 10:45 a.m. on northbound I-215 at Cactus Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials said a Nissan Pathfinder SUV, a van and a Toyota sedan collided at the location, though the circumstances were unclear.
One driver suffered unspecified injuries and was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment, according to officials at the scene.
All lanes were closed for almost 30 minutes to provide space for first responders, and a Sig Alert was issued at 11 a.m. because of the miles-long traffic jam that ensued.
CHP officers freed up the fast lane at 11:15 a.m. By 11:45 a.m., the wreckage was cleared, and all lanes were available, according to the agency.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
