Firefighters Tuesday were working to extinguish a third-alarm fire in a commercial building in Los Alamitos.
The fire was reported at 5:31 a.m. in the single-story building in the 10800 block of Kyle Street, said Capt. Sean Doran of the Orange County Fire Authority.
The flames burned through the roof of the building, and firefighters went into a defensive mode, working to prevent the fire from spreading to other structures, Doran said.
Personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department were sent to the assist, Doran said.
After a couple of hours, fire commanders began releasing firefighters from the scene, but the effort was continuing to fully extinguish the interior flames, Doran said. No injuries were reported.
