The U.S. Forest Service, with an assist from L.A. County firefighters, are battling a brush fire in Bouquet Canyon that ignited from a car fire and has so far scorched an estimated 50 to 75 acres of grass.

The fire which was reported around 2 p.m. started burning at Bouquet Canyon and Spunky Canyon roads near the Bouquet Reservoir, north of Santa Clarita, according to the LA County Fire Department and the U.S. Forest Service.

Water dropping aircraft were headed to the fire zone, according to the Forest Service.

Winds were gusting at about 15 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

So far no injuries have been reported and no structures are threatened.
