Two men were hospitalized Saturday after their vehicle went off a roadway and over an embankment into a railroad cut in Riverside.
The solo-vehicle crash was reported at 2:18 a.m. at Jurupa Avenue and Pachappa Drive, a residential area in the Magnolia Center neighborhood, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
One man suffered critical injuries while the other man suffered minor injuries, fire officials said.
Both men were able to get out of the vehicle after the crash but needed to be removed from the trench by rescue personnel.
Fire officials said the wreck temporarily affected Union Pacific Railroad trains that use the tracks where the vehicle landed.
The crash was being investigated by the Riverside Police Department.
