A sedan rear-ended a big rig Saturday evening on the 10 Freeway in the Desert Center area, killing the car’s driver.
The crash was reported at 5:45 p.m. on the westbound 10 two miles east of Red Cloud, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The impact left the driver of the gray sedan lying on a seat inside his car and witnesses were unable to pull him out, they told the CHP.
The sedan’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. His identity was not immediately available.
