All westbound lanes of the Riverside (91) Freeway through Corona remained closed Saturday evening to enable construction crews to work on two projects simultaneously.

The Riverside County Transportation Commission opted to close the Riverside Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday to work on the 15/91 Express Lanes Connector and the 91 Refresh project. Combining the work into one weekend was intended to reduce the impact to motorists, residents and businesses.

The westbound lanes were shut down from the 15 Freeway to Lincoln Avenue, including westbound Main Street on- and off-ramps, the westbound Lincoln Avenue off-ramp, westbound Express Lanes and westbound connectors from the 15 Freeway, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.

Motorists can detour by taking the 15 Freeway to the Pomona (60) Freeway westbound, then going south on either the Chino Valley (71) Freeway or the Orange (57) Freeway back to the Riverside Freeway.
