Authorities sought public help Friday to find the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 27-year-old man and severely injured a 27-year-old woman in February.

Officers responded to a report about a fatal crash around 8:15 p.m., Feb. 19 at Avalon Boulevard north of 135th Street, in the Willowbrook area, where a vehicle struck two pedestrians crossing the street, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Angelia Gonzales.

Gonzales said a 27-year-old man died at the scene, while a 27-year-old woman sustained life-altering injuries.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified the man as Raymond Olivares Suares of Los Angeles.

Investigators sought additional public leads through photos, videos, social media posts and witnesses to further assist in the investigation. Anyone with any information was urged to contact Gonzales at 424-551-4000 or angelia.gonzales@chp.ca.gov.
