A 15-foot python that went missing in Chatsworth July 4 was found Wednesday.
Big Mama had last seen at his home in Chatsworth, prompting a search for the reptile as the Villata family asked nearby residents for help finding her.
NBC4 reported the family saying that Big Mama had eaten a rabbit for dinner moments before she went missing.
The python eats every two weeks, concerning the family, because they had about a week to find Big Mama before her quest in search of another meal.
“I feel so bad; something so simple could have avoided all of this,” Alex Villata told NBC4.
The snake’s cage was not bolted before the python escaped, Villata told NBC4.
