Two men were stuck atop a hydraulic lift raised 150 feet high in Norco Friday, but company technicians ultimately got them down, with assistance from Riverside County Fire Department crews.

The boom entrapment was reported about 10:50 a.m. in the 1800 block of Norco Drive, near Sixth Street, just west of Interstate 15, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that several engine crews and a ladder company were sent to the location and found two workers for a contractor, which wasn’t identified, unable to lower the hydraulic lift raised at or near peak height.

“The private company (was) attempting to bring the two workers down,” according to a fire department statement.

Fire personnel provided support but were not directly involved in attempting to restore the boom’s functionality, officials said.

Technicians were ultimately able to restore the machine’s systems and bring the men down, uninjured, about 1 p.m.

There was no immediate word on why the boom failed.
