A big rig crashed on the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach Tuesday, blocking lanes for more than eight hours and backing up traffic.

The crash was reported at about 10:30 a.m. near Ninth Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. No injuries were reported.

Two northbound lanes were blocked while crews worked to clear the scene, a closure that was continuing until Tuesday around 6:50 p.m., the CHP reported.

Arrangements were being made to inspect a freeway overcrossing that may have been damaged in the crash, the CHP added.

All lanes has since been reopened and traffic has resumed to normal.
