A gas line breach Monday in a Moreno Valley neighborhood prompted a fire department response but no evacuations.
The leak was reported about 11 a.m. at the intersection of Elder Avenue and Marmont Place, just north of the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that an engine crew was sent to the location and encountered a strong gas odor emanating from a one-inch main near a house.
It was unclear how the line was ruptured.
No evacuations or shelter-in-place orders were declared.
SoCal Gas Co. technicians were called and arrived roughly a half-hour later to mitigate the leak and make repairs.
