A bicyclist was killed Sunday after being struck by a vehicle in Jurupa Valley, the Riverside County Fire Department announced.
The accident was reported around 11:10 a.m. Sunday in the 10500 block of Jurupa Road.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle required extrication and was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries after crashing into the bicyclist and a power pole, authorities said.
The cause of the crash was unknown.
The gender and ages of the bicyclist and driver were not immediately provided.
Southern California Edison was on the scene to repair the power pole.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department assumed the investigation.
