The Dodgers’ ownership group has pledged to donate $50 million to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and another $50 million if the team reaches the World Series this season, owner Mark Walter announced Thursday evening.
“This donation underscores the importance of every goal the LADF pursues and achieves, and our hope is that together, our baseball team and the foundation reach the greatest heights in 2024,” Walter said in announcing the donation at the foundation’s annual Blue Diamond Gala at Dodger Stadium
The foundation describes its mission as improving education, health care, homelessness and social justice for all Angelenos, envisioning “a city where everyone regardless of ZIP code has the opportunity to thrive.”
The foundation’s programs are funded through private donations and various fundraising events. Team finances are not used.
