Firefighters were able to douse the flames at a burning abandoned structure in Thermal Thursday in slightly more than an hour.
The fire was first reported at 6:02 a.m Thursday in the 68000 block of Polk Street, according to Riverside County Fire Department public information officer Karina Spinoza. An RCFD statement noted that the first arriving unit saw “heavy fire with possible extension to the vegetation.”
Officials contained the blaze at around 7:13 a.m., according to Spinoza. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
