Two people were killed Sunday evening on the 10 Freeway transition road in the Whitewater area near Palm Springs.
The crash was reported at 7:37 p.m. Sunday on the transition between Highway 62 and the westbound 10, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The two were pronounced dead at the scene and three people were taken by paramedics to a trauma center with moderate injuries, fire officials said.
The transition road was shut down for the investigation.
