A man was killed Friday when the vehicle he was driving rolled over multiple times on westbound Interstate 10 near Box Canyon Road — ejecting him before it came to a stop some 50 feet off the road.
The California Highway Patrol said that, as officers arrived around 10 a.m. Friday, one reporting party, an emergency nurse, was looking for the vehicle, which had landed out of sight from the roadway.
David Torres, a CHP spokesman, told City News Service that the driver — the vehicle’s lone occupant — was pronounced dead shortly after.
Once located, the vehicle required a towing operation due to four non-operational tires.
Information on what may have caused the crash was not immediately available.
The No. 2 lane was blocked after the accident but reopened around 12:30 p.m., according to the CHP.
