A man in a gray Toyota sedan was killed during a crash with a big rig in Lancaster, authorities said Saturday.
The crash occurred at about 9:40 p.m. Friday at Longview Road and East Avenue J, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The motorist was later identified as 51-year-old Kevin Gately Jr., according to the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators found the gray sedan under the cab of the big rig. The big rig driver was uninjured, according to sources at the scene.
