A man driving a pickup was killed after he crashed into the rear of a semi trailer in Lancaster, authorities said Tuesday.
The crash was reported at 11 p.m. Monday at 30th Street West and Avenue G. According to the preliminary investigation, the man driving the semi trailer was headed north on 30th Street West and was turning left onto Avenue G when the driver of the blue pickup, traveling east on Avenue G, crashed into the rear end of the semi, said Los Angeles County Sheriff Detective Jorge Diaz.
The pickup driver suffered major trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene of by Los Angeles County Fire personnel.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
