Two people suffered serious injuries Tuesday in a multi-vehicle traffic collision in Palm Desert.
The crash was reported at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 43000 block of Monterey Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Firefighters in the first engine that arrived were able to extricate two trapped occupants.
Both were rushed to a hospital with “serious injuries,” the department said. It was not immediately clear if either injured party was a driver.
Monterey Avenue from Parkview Drive to Granvia was closed in both directions for at least 90 minutes, according to the department.
