The 39-year-old pickup truck driver killed in a collision with a semitractor-trailer in Lancaster was identified Wednesday.
The crash was reported at 11 p.m. Monday at 30th Street West and Avenue G.
According to the preliminary investigation, the man driving the semitractor-trailer was headed north on 30th Street West and was turning left onto Avenue G when the driver of the blue pickup, traveling east on Avenue G, crashed into the rear end of the semitractor-trailer, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Detective Jorge Diaz.
The pickup driver suffered major trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.
He was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Gregory Sherman Jr.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
