Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department were battling a brush fire in Jurupa Valley Saturday.

The 12-acre fire was reported just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Pedley Road and Ben Nevis Boulevard.

The forward rate of spread was stopped around 4:10 p.m., but crews predicted remaining on scene for approximately two hours.

Responding firefighters reported the fire burning with light, flashy fuels. Engines from the Riverside Fire Department were requested to assist.

Pedley Road was closed north of the 60 Highway due to the fire’s progression. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was assisting fire crews with the road closure.
