Riverside Fire Department firefighters stopped the forward progress of a vegetation fire in Riverside.
The fire was reported around 2:30 p.m. Saturday near the 2900 block of Dexter Drive in the Santa Ana River bottom where firefighters found the 25-feet-by-25-feet patch of burning vegetation.
No structures were threatened by the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Fire crews estimated reaching containment sometime after 5:30 p.m.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
