An 88-year-old man and his 76-year-old wife were reported missing after being last seen Wednesday in Palm Desert, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.
Robert Black and Janet Black were both last seen near the intersection of Liolios Drive and Ascalon Avenue around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Robert was described as a 5-foot-9-inch tall man weighing 170 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants and a light-colored shirt.
Janet was described as a 5-foot-3-inch tall woman weighing 133 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black shorts and a sweater.
CHP officials presumed the two were traveling in a red 2018 Mercedes CLA250 with California license plate 8EFA979.
The Silver Alert is in effect for Riverside, San Diego, Los Angeles, Imperial and Orange counties.
Anyone with information regarding Robert’s and Janet’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
