An SUV driver was struck and killed by a big rig Sunday on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sun Valley, authorities said.
The death occurred at about 9:25 a.m. Sunday on the northbound freeway near the Sunland Boulevard off-ramp, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A caller reported to the CHP that a man exited the dark-colored SUV and ran into traffic.
A representative from the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner was called to the location at 10:28 a.m.
A Sigalert, issued at 9:48 a.m. closing all lanes of the northbound freeway, was canceled at 1:11 p.m.
